Final Response

Reflecting- I always reflect on what happened in the book so I know what is going on and I make sure if I understand it and get the details. I remember what happens in the book by reflecting. I also ask a few friends what happens in the book and I tell them what I think about the book so I understand it better and I make sure I understand what happened.

Predicting- Its good if you predict about what would happen in a book so you can see if your guess is right or not. It helps you understand the different plots of the book. When Bethany DeMere was introduced at the beginning of "the revealers," I predicted that she would cause a lot of trouble and would be really mean. To me, it was kind of obvious that she would insult everyone or a certain person and cause a lot of trouble.

Questioning-If you have questions about a book, its good if you ask questions so you understand the book even more. You do want to ask questions about something you don 't understand such as a word you don't know or what happened because the part from the book doesn't make sense to you. I ask questions about something I don't understand. Everyone should ask questions about books they're reading.

Summarizing- Its good to summarize so you remember the important events that happened in the book. Its better to summarize rather than reading the whole part/book again. Its a short way to remember the key points of the book. I always summarize by myself or with group of people so I remember what happened.

Visualizing- When you visualize a certain part from the book, you imagine how something or someone looks like. You could have your own picture in your head if the author gives you a good description about it. For me, its easier to visualize so I can get a picture of something or someone. Whenever I hear the name Richie and bully come up, I always imagine a tall, mean looking person with black, long, spikey hair pointing in different directions with small black eyes and big, heavy looking eyebrows because I watched a cartoon with a bully that looks like the description I thought of.

Perspectives

If I was Elliot, I would try to ask the bullies why they are bullying me. In the revealers book, Elliot really doesn't care what the bullies do to him. Some of the bullies said,"Where'd you get that shirt-from a Dumpster? Who cut cut your hair-your mom?" (page 18). Elliot wasn't mad or sad. He doesn't care what the bullies say. I would be really angry and a bit sad. Elliot really doesn't tell an adult about what the bullies do to him or say to him. I would at least tell my parents if I'm Elliot.

Keeping Quiet

I think kids should have adults involved in some of their problems, not all. It depends how serious the situation is. For example, when Russell got punched in the face by Richie, he should have told an adult about the problem (page 44). If its just a small problem, a adult really doesn't need to be involved.
